They are a part of the Equine Science Program and are taught basic ground handling skills such as grooming, leading, yielding to pressure, tying, picking up feet, and standing for the vet and farrier. They have been exposed to bathing, clipping, and loading/unloading on a stock trailer as well as noises associated with football games and fireworks. During their time in this program, each horse has lived outside in mixed groups as well as stalled individually at night. The horses learn to round pen, longe, and are green broke to walk, jog, and lope under saddle. At the time of sale, most horses will have had approximately 20 rides. They are worked with by a variety of students with various skill levels. All Penn State horses are microchipped for identification purposes. PSU Shes Hot N Lazy, ""Summer"", is a 2024 brown filly by One Hot Krymsun and out of Lopin Somebody. She is an attractive and impressively bred mare. This mare is a talented mover and willing to learn. She is ground covering in her stride and flat in her knee, allowing her to excel in the Western and All-Around events. PSU Shes Hot N Lazy's sire, One Hot Krymsun, is a three-time AQHA world champion in Open Western Pleasure. One Hot Krymsun is the first horse to have won the 2-Year-Old Snaffle Bit, Junior, and Senior classes in a row. He is an NSBA Hall of Fame stallion, a four-time All American Quarter Horse Congress Champion, and he was Reserve Congress Champion three times PSU Shes Hot N Lazy's dam, Lopin Somebody, has been a long-standing producer for the Penn State Equine Science Program and is a multiple point-earning producer.
