They are a part of the Equine Science Program and are taught basic ground handling skills such as grooming, leading, yielding to pressure, tying, picking up feet, and standing for the vet and farrier. They have been exposed to bathing, clipping, and loading/unloading on a stock trailer as well as noises associated with football games and fireworks. During their time in this program, each horse has lived outside in mixed groups as well as stalled individually at night. The horses learn to round pen, longe, and are green broke to walk, jog, and lope under saddle. At the time of sale, most horses will have had approximately 20 rides. They are worked with by a variety of students with various skill levels. All Penn State horses are microchipped for identification purposes PSU Surely A Goodbar, ""Pippi"", is a 2023 sorrel mare with a flaxen mane. She is a flashy and attentive mare who pays strict attention to whoever is working with her. Her unique coloring would make her stand out in any herd. She is sensitive and responsive to rider queues. Her high-quality movement would make her a strong competitor in a Western Pleasure program. We held this mare back a year in order to give her a chance to mature.  PSU Surely A Goodbar's sire, Red White N Good, excels in Western Pleasure and Western Riding. He placed 3rd in Performance Halter Stallions at the 2013 All-American Quarter Horse Congress. He also placed 15th in the Open Jr Western Riding and 11th place in Green Western Riding in 2014. Red White N Good was an AQHA World Show Qualifier in Jr Western Riding. He has sired Multiple Top Ten Congress Producer such as Live N It Up and Icecream, and is an NSBA World Champion Producer. PSU Surely A Goodbar's dam, Festive For Certain, is a long-standing producer of the Penn State Equine Science Program and is a multiple-point earning producer. Her foals have earned 4 Register of Merits and over 200 total AQHA points. PSU Surely a Goodbar's half-sister, PSU Certain Hope (by PSU Dynamic Krymsun), has earned over 100 AQHA points overall, is an AQHA World Show Qualifier, and has earned two performance ROMs. Engagements: NSBA BCF and SIF Genetic test results: HYPP N/N per AQHA.
