Elans Doc Friday (aka Little Man) is a 2021 sorrel Gelding, standing 14.1 hands.  He was professionally started as a 3 yr old and has had additional training this summer in preparation for showing in Stock horse/Ranch versatility classes this fall.  He's been used on a ranch to move and sort cattle.  He is very smart, learns quickly and is a thinker.  He prefers to be mentally challenged and keep things interesting.  Being cutting bred, he takes responsibility for his actions rather than being guided every step.  His temperament is best suited for work and action and not so much for repetitive drills and maneuvers (ie reining, english or dressage).  He hauls easily, stands quietly when tied, good for farrier, bathes (never been clipped-sorry), stands for saddling, no freshness for silliness at beginning of a ride and will meet you at the gate every time.  He's a pleasure to ride with his gentle stride and smooth gaits.  He's solid on his WTL cue's, neck reins, ground ties, knows leg and seat cue's and has been started on cattle for cutting/boxing.  Little Man has one of the nicest most enjoyable personalities of the colts I've raised in the past several years.  He's going to be one of those horses that will in time execute what his rider is thinking.  This is a bond I had with his mother and made us a very successful and competitive team across multiple disciplines.  He is truly what I'd describe as an Old Soul.  He has the temperament and talent to be finished in several different directions and wants to get along and please his rider.  He is generally laid back, not easily startled, no spook but will get up and go when asked.  It's always easier to add speed than try to gear one down in my opinion. Both his dam and sire are finished cutters.  His dam has NCHA earnings as well as significant Team Sorting and Penning earnings, and was shown in Stock Horse Boxing classes with numerous first place finishes before retirement.  His sire has earnings in several club cutting associations in OK and TX and went Champion at every OKSHA versatility show he entered.  His sire has produced offspring that are excelling in ranch work, roping, versatility and cutting.  Little Man has a full sister currently in cutting training with James Mora which is the only reason I've chosen to offer him for sale.  Horses like this don't come along often. Elans Doc Friday is eligible for registration with the Foundation QH Registry.  His dam is FQHR.  Go to Documents tab to view Disclosure Form and Disposition Ratings.
